        Maisonette Muse

        Joey Wölffer

Few people conjure up the Hamptons quite like Joey Wölffer, our latest Muse. In addition to running her late father’s winery, this bohemian beauty is responsible for growing her family’s legacy into a total lifestyle brand, which today includes the 175-acre Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack, a tasting room, stables, two restaurants, and most recently, a store in Sag Harbor. We spent the day with this busy mama to find out how – and where – she spends her time. Consider this your insider’s guide to the Hamptons.

7:30am - Nell is a rock-star and sleeps until 7:30am (lucky us!) She drinks her milk outside on our porch and we throw the ball around with our Jack Russell Terrier, Chili P. Then breakfast: yogurt & granola, or banana pancakes for special occasions. Nell is only two, but she already likes to pick out her outfit. Her choices can be interesting at times, but I go with the flow. After we get dressed, we usually have a little time to swing on the swings, or take Chili for a walk before I run off to exercise class at East Hampton’s AKT – these are by far the most fun exercise classes I have ever been to, and I am totally hooked.

9:00am - I’m 6-months pregnant right now, so getting dressed is more of a challenge. My current pregnancy uniform consists of a few vintage Indian dresses that I got from my awesome store in Sag Harbor. I really gravitate towards one-of-a kind pieces – I don't like to look like everyone else. Because I’m tall, long dresses work for me during pregnancy – there’s nothing pulling on the ever-growing tummy! Plus, they work whether I’m at the store, or the winery . Another favorite shop of mine is Lazy Point in Amagansett. They have tons of unique and interesting finds. Finally, for the best organic beauty products, my go-to is Knockout Beauty in Bridgehampton.

12:30pm - Lunch! My current obsession is the “hippie dippy” veggie sandwich from Breadzilla in Wainscott – it’s an easy go-to during the day when I am on the run. Of course, I also love Wölffer Kitchen Sag Harbor and Amagansett- I often get the Cobb Salad take-out from the WK Sag Harbor. Another favorite foodie stop is the Serene Green Farm Stand – they’ve got the best local fish, veggies, and local specialties.

3:00pm - Working five days a week doesn’t give me too much time during the day to be with Nell, so I have to get creative when it comes to carving out time with her. One of her favorite activities is the Sing & Shine music class at the Wine Stand, and I often sneak out of work to catch a class with her. She also loves her weekly riding lessons, which she takes at the Wölffer Estate Stables. She is gearing up for her debut at the Hampton Classic this year, as I can't show!

5:30pm - When you have your own business or businesses, you are always on call. But I try to get everything done in the day so that when I get home from work, it’s all about Nell. I love what I do, it makes me happy, which makes me a better mother. We love taking Nell to Long Beach for dinner and to watch the sunset – with Chili in tow, of course!

7:30pm - We often have work engagements during the summer, so I really treasure the time we’re able to spend at home or on the beach with close friends and family. We’ve had more parties than I can count, but they are always relaxed, never fussy, and always fun. My nephew DJs, and we dance through the night with the fireflies. Those are the nights that make up the summers for us – and the memories we will keep forever.
